Marga is a GLAAD award winner and triple winner of the San Francisco Bay Guardian’s “Best of The Bay Comedian Award.” She is also one of the first openly lesbian comedians in the nation. Armistead Maupin has called Marga Gomez "Astonishing!" Robin Williams has praised Marga as “a Lesbian Lenny Bruce.”

Her stand-up comedy has been featured on HBO, LOGO, Comedy Central and PBS. She has appeared nationally and internationally in concert, at universities, pride festivals and numerous comedy festivals including San Francisco Sketchiest, Montreal’s Just For Laughs, London’s Hot August Fringe and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Marga is also the writer/performer of ten solo plays. Her latest work “Lovebirds” made its New York premiere in 2014 and ran in the fall at the Marsh, Berkeley for a six week engagement.
